KOTAI 30‑ton Pneumatic‑tyre Rollers in Cluster Operation for Mountainous Highway Asphalt Pavement Construction

21st August, 2026

This project is a high-grade highway construction project in mountainous areas. The route runs through hilly terrain with drastic undulations. The pavement adopts asphalt concrete structure, which imposes stringent requirements on the compaction degree, flatness and water sealing performance of the asphalt surface course.

Due to the large temperature difference between day and night in mountainous regions, the temperature of asphalt drops rapidly after paving. Multiple rollers are required to operate continuously in coordination to complete rolling compaction within the optimal temperature window of asphalt.

Four units of KOTAI 30-ton pneumatic-tyre rollers were deployed on the construction site to undertake the final compaction of asphalt pavement. The equipment delivers kneading compaction to eliminate rolling marks, improve the compactness and waterproof performance of the asphalt surface, and guarantee long-term service quality of the highway.

In this mountain highway project, cluster operation of KOTAI 30-ton pneumatic-tyre rollers fully maximizes the strengths of rubber-tyre rollers for asphalt final compaction. After compaction, the pavement reaches the specified compaction standard with enhanced surface tightness, which strengthens the road’s resistance to rainwater erosion and extends its service life.

The stable and reliable field performance of the multiple machines fully verifies the excellent adaptability of KOTAI road compaction equipment to complicated mountain construction conditions, offering reliable equipment support for the construction of high-grade asphalt highways.
