7 tips for operating KOTAI's bulldozers!

Forest Clearing Bulldozer

Tip 1:
Slow and heavy loads have higher efficiency than fast and light loads, and bulldozers should try to maintain heavy loads during operation. Although the driving speed is relatively slow, it can reduce the number of round trips and empty mileage, saving both time and fuel consumption overall.
Tip 2:
When encountering long-distance bulldozing operations, work in sections from front to back. Starting from the front end, each distance can be filled with materials, so push one section and then move one section back. This can reduce the distance traveled by the bulldozer when fully loaded, as well as the distance returned by the bulldozer when empty, improving work efficiency and reducing fuel consumption.

Tip 3:
Try to avoid material rolling. Many people believe that the rolling of materials before the bulldozer is very attractive, which is a manifestation of the strong power of the bulldozer. In fact, material flipping will increase the wear of the shovel, blade, and blade angle, which will increase the fuel consumption of the bulldozer. The correct approach is to continuously increase the load to the maximum amount after the shovel enters, in order to improve work efficiency. When the load is full and the material is about to roll, lift the shovel slightly.
Tip 4:
When bulldozing near the mountain, it is important to adhere to the principle of "high on the outside and low on the inside", which means that the side closer to the cliff should be higher and the side closer to the mountain should be lower to avoid accidents caused by bulldozers. When pushing soil and rock towards the cliff, be slow and pay attention to slowing down in a timely manner. Do not push the bulldozer out of the edge of the cliff.

Tip 5:
When bulldozing in muddy and soft conditions, bulldozers are prone to getting stuck, so the amount of soil pushed per shovel should not be too large. During driving, try to avoid stopping, shifting gears, turning, and braking, and if necessary, use 2nd gear for bulldozing. If the track slips, the shovel can be raised appropriately to reduce the amount of soil pushed. If the bulldozer still cannot move forward, reverse gear can be engaged to move backwards. Do not lift the shovel at this time to avoid excessive force on the front of the bulldozer causing it to tilt forward, resulting in the front of the track sinking and the rear lifting. At this time, do not turn to prevent one side of the track from being subjected to excessive force and exacerbating the sinking of the vehicle. Once the vehicle gets stuck, do not frequently increase the throttle for self rescue to prevent the bulldozer from getting deeper and deeper.
Tip 6:
When pushing a stone buried in the ground, it should be pushed from a high place to a low place. At the beginning, use a small throttle, and when the stone loosens, increase the throttle to push it away. If it is a pile of stones or debris on the ground, the shovel should be pushed tightly against the ground, and the track should also be in contact with the ground as much as possible when driving. If cleaning up debris in tunnels or underground tunnels, a road should be cleared from the edge first, and then the debris should be gradually pushed out of the tunnel from the edge to the middle.

Tip 7:
If a bulldozer wants to cross a river through water, it should choose a place with turbulent water flow, and try not to cross the river at a slow water flow, because in such places, the riverbed is full of silt and it is easy for vehicles to sink. The depth of the river should not exceed the oil dipstick of the bulldozer crankcase. Use first or second gear to quickly cross the river with high throttle, and try not to stop or reverse in the middle.
Overall, when operating a bulldozer, one principle should be mastered: first level bulldozer operation; Try to avoid unilateral loads as much as possible, maintain stable bulldozing force, and minimize the distance traveled by an empty vehicle.
